🌱. CBD is not THC – CBD is non-psychoactive and does not get you high. Some CBD concentrates contain up to 0.2% THC in the UK while this is enough to subtly affect how you absorb other cannabinoids it is not enough to get you high. Do however practice caution when choosing full spectrum C02 CBD extracts or other CBD products labelled full spectrum. 0.2% THC can compound in the fat tissue in the body, which may show up on a drug test. Choose THC FREE, CBD products if you are concerned about “Cannabis” showing up on a drug test.
🌱. CBD is not a “NEW TREND”! Although it may seem so, CBD has been around for a long time. There are many larger companies in the CBD industry now that started out wholesaling Hempseed and other hemp products. It was not uncommon in the late ’90s and early 2000’s to see small scale hemp shops around London and the south-west of the UK retailing and wholesaling Cannabinoids including CBD!
🌱. CBD does not treat, Cure or directly medicate under the guise of the current pharmaceutical model. Although you may have seen thousands of publications on medical cannabis, Hemp, CBD and other Cannabinoids and terpenes. There are no companies in the UK or Europe who can or should claim direct medical benefit. Publications suggest the many possible uses and benefits of CBD. Cannabis, however, does not fit into the current pharmaceutical model. Being that one compound directly affects and triggers the release and behaviour of another compound is something that hemp/𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐬 is revealing to the pharmaceutical industry. Isolated CBD and other cannabinoids have only minor medical application potential according to medical reports. Only the whole plant, extracted professionally in pharmaceutical laboratories designed specifically for this process could reveal a new potential model on how the medical industry operates.
🌱. CBD does not treat Illness! CBD stimulates an already existing system in your body. This system is known as the Endocannabinoid System. Receptors around our organs, nervous system, muscle and skeletal, basically everywhere that controls how signals are sent and received throughout the body. The endocannabinoid system is known to regulate mood, metabolism, appetite and basically everything else… “Ever heard of the munchies ?” DON’T WORRY!! (CBD won’t give you the munchies.) CBD does not treat anything. It nourishes the body and the body does best when it gets what it wants and needs.
🌱. THE CBD INDUSTRY IS STILL NOT A PROPERLY REGULATED INDUSTRY! Because CBD is from Hemp and Hemp is 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐬. You can probably guess why the industry is still a little bit upside down. Thanks to Regulation bodies such as The Cannabis Trades Association, Cannapro, EIHA and others. There have been massive leaps forward in the CBD industry. The FSA and EU novel foods application discussion, happening right now with the CBD industry in the UK is one of the best things to come out of 2020. It closes all potential of small scale “cowboys” and invites serious, customer and compliance-driven ethics into the growing CBD industry. CBD is not regulated like supplements and food etc it is still unclassified in the retail sense and is considered an on-shelf food product. March 2021 will see massive changes in how CBD is regulated in the UK & EU.
🌱. ONLY PURCHASE CBD FROM REGISTERED, REGULATED, CERTIFIED COMPANIES.
Don’t purchase your CBD from your mates’ mate. Of course, nobody can pass judgement on the quality and assurance of homemade CBD products. However, with regulation comes inspection. This means right down to the raw materials (the plants) everything should be screened for mould and microbes, pesticides and herbicides. Your mate’s mate might make strong CBD oil but they also could be concentrating large amounts of Mycotoxins and other compounds such as heavy metals and pesticides. Yuk 🤢 Be Sure and Be Safe.
I hope this covers some grounds on some basic understandings of CBD.
